This tutorial will show you how to add (pin) or remove (unpin) sites on the sidebar in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The Microsoft Edge web browser is based on Chromium and was released on January 15, 2020. It is compatible with all supported versions of Windows, and macOS. With speed, performance, best in class compatibility for websites and extensions, and built-in privacy and security features.

Microsoft Edge has a sidebar you can add (pin) any site or webpage to. You can add your current page and/or select a top site to add.

Hello Mr @Brink

Is there a way to back up the Sidebar URLs?

Do you know when D&D (drag and drop the links to reorder the list) will be released for the Stable version?

Hello mate, :alien:

I'm not sure for this specifically, but it should be included in the settings location below to test and see.

Thanks:thumbsup:. I checked the files one by one. I found the only file (db) that included the (Sidebar) URLs: "EdgeHubAppUsageSQLite.dll" in the "EdgeHubAppUsage" folder. But I am not sure if it restores the URLs (after a new install).

Do you know what is the "File System" folder? Its size is about 900 MB!

Only one way to know for sure.

Back it up, remove one site, close Edge, restore the file, and open Edge to see if it also restores the site.

The user configured sites in the Sidebar appear to be part of the larger "user + profilename/id" specific file called Preferences, located under, for example for the default profile as below, and similarly for the other profiles under their own respective folders.

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default

nb: The file contains data which appears to be specific to both your Username and also the Profilename id concerned, and contains a lot more besides the user added Sidebar sites.

(Using the method described by Brink (back it up, remove one link, and restore) appears to work.)

Yes. They are there! I don't dare to touch (modify) the Preferences file . I always restore (reset) Edge settings one by one and manually.
