New dell POC has 1tb SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe
options
1- add 2nd 2tb HD I currently have 2tb 6gb/s toshiba
2- add 2nd 1or2tb SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe
2nd storage will mainly be used for files, documents, photos, etc. All apps, programs will be installed on drive 0.
how will data transfer speed between them?
What the +/- for option 1

I use a 2.5" SSD for my Windows drive and very large WD Black HDDs for my storage drives.
Obviously, if your 2nd drive is an NVMe... it will be much faster when moving files from one to the other.

With my setup I see transfer speeds of ~250MB/s, SSD to HDD and HDD to HDD.

What's a POC? Something like a POS?

You'd get more meaningful answers if you gave the exact model.

My own primary desktop uses an NVME drive for the OS and software, a 2.5" SATA SSD for some frequent accessed data, and a large spinner for data that is infrequently accessed. The sequential read rate for the SATA SSD isn't much faster than the HDD, but its latency is much less.

Two NVME (PCI-E 4.0 X4) slots. Two SATA ports.

Does it come with a caddy for one 3.5" HDD? Looks like it may, even without the drive.

You could go with the second M.2 drive, if you wanted the fastest interface. A 2.5" SATA SSD would give you less performance, but at a lower cost per terabyte. An HDD would give you lower random read/write performance, although it could be fast for large file transfers.
