Solved After today's update , HP Hardware Diagnostics Windows wont run.

Hey.
Today HP Hardware Diagnostics utility updated via Microsoft Store. After that when i try to run it i take an error "The Windows Event Log Service must be running" :

I searched the "services" but I don't see a service with that name, at least in English.
I have Greek Windows and so I see other services with an English name and others with a Greek one. In Greek, however, I don't see anything that looks like this.
Any idea how can I check if the service exists and works ?

There are several types of HP hardware diagnostics:

UEFI and Bootable

Windows

They can each be downloaded and installed directly from HP.

UEFI works OK. sp142974 not works , no install.

That's the one. Have you tried stopping the service and starting it again? Leave startup type as automatic.

I tried it now. Gets the same error message , "The Windows Event Log Service must be running". I guess the HP's utility has the problem , as i have the service and its "automatic" and "running". Thanks for your time.

Have you tried uninstalling it then downloading directly from HP. See @zbook 's links.

The HP UEFI hardware diagnostics and bootable diagnostics can run overnight while sleeping.

The HP Windows hardware diagnostics only has a few tests that cannot be performed by the other diagnostics.

Hi! I've the same Problem on diffrent PC's since the new Windows update.
I can't restart the service, then I get the error message "The service could not be stopped. Error 1061 - The service cannot accept control messages at this time" I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows" software. The message keeps popping up.

Hi guys, same problem here, Windows 11 Home 22H2 Build 22621.963 . I thought I had some problem with the Windows Event Log Service, and tried to use some tricks until I bumped into here and I undestood I was wasting my time. Bug Locker, did you unistall the current version before running the older one which seems to work?
Plus, did anyone of you try to contact Hp support to analyze this issue since it's obvious that's a problem by they side aftet the update of the 17th of December?
