After W11 Repair Upgrade several programs (Acronis, Start 11, and a few others) do have software updates but they don't download - Why?

W11 has been a headache from the beginning with all types of crashes - it recently got worse, and I did a clean install last January. Some weeks ago, all System restore points disappeared; Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office notified me it could update but then the update was blocked; Acronis occasionally would not open; Start 11 the same; Express VPN stopped working and all DESKTOP Ok icons layout disappeared. Even W11 updates would not download. No direct or indirect traces of infection (Bitdefender ( Mbam). I decided to try a repair upgrade something I had never tried before. Following repair, windows updates normalized but all other problems remained. I would be most grateful if someone might provide some solution. Many thanks.

In-Place Upgrade only fixes Windows issues.
As for some of your 3rd party programs being blocked... check your firewall.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Home? Why?
Over the years, and several OS's, I've found the Home versions seriously lacking. That was only on customer's PC's, because I've never installed the Home version of any OS here on my own PC's. Maybe, x86 wherever required, but always PRO and never Home.

If you brought me your PC for a fix, that would have to entail a Fresh install of Windows 11/Pro/64.
After saving all your data files to an external device, of course. And, for simplicity, it would also use a Local Account and NO Password. (initially, anyway)
MBAM? Probably not. I gave up on that program years ago.

"Super Anti Spyware" will keep you free of Trojans and Tracking Cookies, and the FREE version works just fine.

Good Luck! I'll be waiting and anxious to see what your FIX turns out to be.
