Solved AMD drivers will not install.

After upgrading to windows 11 the latest AMD drivers for my Rx450 GPU will not install.
The MSI CD Motherboard Drivers do install including Rx450 Gpu but are obviously out of date.
Sys WIN 11 Latest Insider Build. 21H2 O/s 22000.51
MSI B450M VDH MAX
Ryzen 5 3600x CPU
16 Gb RAM 3200 Mh
RX 480 AMD 8 Gb VDDR5 GPU.
C:\ 240 Gb SSD = system
Cache 250 Gb M2 Nmve.
D:\ 2 TbLibrary`s For steam And DOC,PICs ETC.
The cache M2 was setup using AMD M1. It seems be doing its job but when trying to install the latest AMD Drivers an error message pops up Stating it can not find a file on the cache drive.
Apart from this Windows 11 looks Good.
I will reinstall my steam Games to check the cache is working as it should.

What was the reason you moved cache to another drive ? With it in main drive all drivers install correctly.

The drive order I have listed is the only combination M1 would allow.
c:\ >cache>d:\
As I have said every game and library`s work fine with steam and my document, pictures, downloads, etc work.

Mainly out of curiosity, I looked for the RX 450.

Didn't find one. There's an RX 460, and an R7 450. The latter was only an OEM unit, and AMD doesn't list drivers for it.

What is your actual GPU?

also @CountMike

Try this :

1) have image file (macrium) of latest W10 system or even an W10 disc itself (installed -- NOT the installation disk). Note also this should be an image of Windows running in the TARGET COMPUTER and not W11. Must be W10.

2) if using macrium image mount to browse the macrium file or browse the W10 disk

3) go to folder windows->system32->driverstore

4) go to device manager

5) for each device you need a driver for simply choose update driver, scan computer (ensure include subfolders box is clicked) and then use directory in step 3).

Should work perfectly. I did this when converting a W11 Virtual machine (running on an AMD box) to run on a PHYSICAL INTEL laptop. Found all the required drivers from the W10 system image.

W11 will be far too new for a lot of hardware drivers to be available so I'd imagine unless very unlucky the W10 ones will work just OK --use latest possible edition of W10 though and it must be an INSTALLED version or its macrium image - you can't use this method by using the Windows INSTALL ISO.

Ok, it looks like the problem is with the C++ runtime .
I have manually installed all run time files from 2005 to 2013, When I try to install 2015,17,& 19 I get the same error report.,and a visual studio pop up saying it can not uninstall the old version of C++ 2015 -19 64bit. The 32bit runtime does install.

Hi jimbo I tried that and it reports that the correct drivers are already installed anyway the win32 drivers lib is never up to date. the last macrium backup I did was last week. I may wait to see if it's a win 11 problem but I don't see it.
I still think it's a C++runtime error as 2015 onward will not reinstall. As I have said my machine appears to be working apart from this AMD driver update.
That's is something I am waiting to do is backup this New install using Macrium but no point yet(actually I will, when trying to use my win 10 Install USB it reported it can not READ installation Key and refused to progress to the disclaimer screen). So yes will back up this build anyway.

I hope it is now sorted.
I followed the Amd recomendations. firstly sfc /scannow
Then Dism repair files
And it now has the latest drivers.
whoopi doo.
But there are some other Bugs i have Macrium will not work it locks up my system.this is in backup threads.

I SPOKE TO SOON THE amd DRIVERS WILL STILL NOT UPDATE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE C++ RUNTIME LIBRARY FOR 2015 64B REFUSING TO INSTALL?.

Logitech K750 Solar Keyboard is not detected so cannot check status of charging. Have re downloaded driver and installed and still does not work. Logitech website is not useful. Works flawlessly in Win 10.
