Anyone using both Macrium Reflect and Hasleo with both available on boot screen?

I want to play with Hasleo and move away from Macrium by the end of this year. Pay once, not forever!

Is anyone using both and with both showing on the Windows OS select boot screen ?
Reflect is currently using WinRE. Can Hasleo use the same WinRE to avoid issues?
Post a photo of your boot screen if you can and how best to install Hasleo.

I just installed it and used the tools menu to add it to the boot screen, no issues at all.

Install Hasleo Backup Suite and you can make a backup at any time. Directory's, Partitions, Disks.
Hasleo has a Rescue disk option where you can make a bootable ISO. You can write the ISO (Rufus) to an USB stick or CD to boot from. Or as user Pietcorus2 was suggesting place it onto a Ventoy USB stick. You have then 2 options;

During startup hit the key that let the BIOS know to enter it's bootmenu and select;
- The Hasleo version on CD or Bootable USB stick.
- The Ventoy drive and choose the Hasleo ISO.
=> Inside you motherboard boot menu; You will see 2 partitions of the Ventoy USB-stick 1) The boot partition 2) The data partition with all ISO's. Choose 2 or the bottom one. It wil show you a list of all ISO's on that partition. (not matter if you placed them in any directory; it will filter out all ISO's in any directory on that partition.)

I prefer Ventoy. Hasleo makes the .ISO and you just copy this ISO to the Ventoy disk instead that Rufus is "burning" the ISO to the USB-stick. Much quicker and you don't have to have 10 separate USB sticks lying arround with all kind of ISO's. On one 128Gb stick you can have some 15 separate ISO's to boot from.

I have to place a note here. I tried it recently and ran into an issue (I think it has to do with 26200.8117. Had never any issues before that) that Windows is telling me that the bootloader is of the wrong version. One one occasion it saw SVN 1.0 and wanted SVN 3.0 (Hasleo CD) and on an other it saw SVN 3.0 and wanted SVN 7.0. (Ventoy) After this bad readable dark-red on black message your system quickly shuts down.... Bye...

You can easily bypass this annoyance by turning off Secure Boot temporary. So be aware that this can happen.

In theory, they could share a RE/PE, but it's risky as if one modifies it, the other might stop working.

Yes it can be done. Doesnt stop the other working.

While you can, I don't add either to my bootloader. Never really saw a need to.

Yup, I've been using both for quite some time on two machines and both have both boot screens set up. I have Macrium do a weekly backup on Mondays and Hasleo do weekly backups on Thursdays. Both run without issue. I wanted to test and get familiar with both plus on one machine I use Macrium X vs 8.1 since it's ARM which 8.1 isn't compatible on. Anyway I am letting the Macrium X subscription expire in a couple weeks and going Hasleo Backup only on the ARM machine. I like it's simpler and much more intuitive interface a lot better anyway.

This is the reason I use Hasleo, it is the only free system imaging backup with free PreOS.

It takes me 2 mins just to boot USB, if I can find it, I can have restore done in the same amount of time using PreOS (1+1 min)

You should always have a bootable removable drive of whatever program you are using as well and not just on the Windows boot menu.
If your EFI partition gets corrupted then no boot menu so program will not work and if you do not also have a bootable media with your program on it you will be unable to restore any image.

I totally agree with @KevTech. I create my backups from within Windows. My need to boot from Macrium or Haselo is only to restore which is once every blue moon. Why would I want to slow down every boot by the amount of the timeout period of having multible boot entries in my bootmanager.

EFI BCD seems more susceptible to corrupting than in the old MBR days, at least if the number of folks who come here with BCD issues is an indication. While I do not claim to know that to be true, I consider it something I do not want to take a chance on when I gain nothing from doing it. But that's just me.

I get your point but I don't mind a ten second boot menu on bootup since I also like to add a Safe Mode Boot option to it. Also if you're there for the boot just hit enter or bypass it if your in a hurry. If your not there while it boots it doesn't matter anyway. I also find the boot options convenient on the off chance I want to do a restore. Everyone has their own preferences though so there is no right or wrong way, just what works best for you.

It is not that hard to add new Items into that WinRE menu it seems. And that alternative WinPE menu you can even add more without filling the whole WinRE page. Compacter menu items I mean. Nice set of tools; ADD-TO-WIMv11a.zip. Thanks.
