Slightly disengenous advertising - the downloads are a 1 year free trial, not a perpetual licence (web page does not mention that although the text file does). @z3r010 states that of course.

I looked at key features of Pro version, and only feature I saw that I do not have with paid version of Macrium Reflect was the ability to sync data folders. I presume this is not a continuous activity but only done on demand.

Having said that, this is not a feature I personally would use.

The sync can be set on various triggers manual or automatic, including the one I use
I use it on my travel Image storage drive It syncs when ever I attach the drive to my Desktop

The default is to attach it to the desktop occasionally ( and certainly when I plan a trip ), this means that the current Lightroom catalog and Image library is on the drive.

When I am away in the hotel I attach the drive to the laptop and Use it to store any work I do when away, (including storing the base image files and the catalogue )

When I arrive home I attach the drive to the desktop and the catalog and images are synced back to the Desktop

( I have room on the drive for the full image library, but if that eventually is not possible there is a Lightroom Virtual Image which allows editing but on a small copy of the original file (Lightroom never touches the original image except when performing an export - so when the drive is re-connected to the desktop the original full size files have the same edits applied automatically as the virtual file )

My guess it will be like Macrium Reflect or Malwarebyte trials - pay up or revert to free version.

In that case you can just revert to the free version, and you get to keep your pro recovery media. (if you create one now)
You can continue to use your pro recovery media to restore, or create backups with the pro features enabled. This is pretty important as the free version lacks some features you might need. The recovery media has no expirity date, however, it also has no updates as without a license you cannot re-create/update it.

However, since this is AOMEI and they are very kind, I'm pretty sure you will receive a nice discount to upgrade to a perpetual license. Even if you don't need much of pro features, it is a symbolic offer and then you still get updates, which is rather important in my opinion.
Enjoy!

I have downloaded offer, and I may put it on a vm to play with it, but until it has the equivalent of Macrium's Rapid Delta Restore, it will always be an also ran.

I'm posting this here just to highlight my practical experience with AOMEI. I have used use the Pro version (full license) for a few years now and run the program daily making incremental backup chains. I also have zero worries about restores, it always works without fail, however......

I always install AOMEI alongside a clean Windows installation and use the latest version however I never update the program once installed and working.

Why?

I don't update because on the three occasions I have done this I hit issues. These issues span a couple of years or more. The first time the newly updated version crawled along, another time internal links within the program broke (such as accessing the user manual) and the third time (and I tried this only the other day) the program crashed with a 'not responding' message as I started a backup. Given that the program worked faultlessly every day since October and then within 48 hours of updating it crashes can not be coincidence.

The only way out was to use Task Manager to shut it down.

A restart later and I restored back to an image from before I did the update. All now good.

So three times I have updated and with these updates spanning three separate installs, W11 and two W10 installations and all three times there have been issues.

For anyone with an iPhone I would recommend trying out the MBackupper for a year.
What's wrong with the built-in (erstwhile iTunes) backup feature?

Never said there was anything wrong with it. If the 5 Gig free limit is good enough or monthly payment is acceptable then fine. This way I can keep data locally rather than the cloud is all.
