Avatar resizing

I am trying to use my old Windows 10 avatar but am having a job to fit it in my Windows 11 Avatar spot. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated keeping in mind I am not that savvy with manipulating graphics.:)

Microsoft PowerToys has a built-in toy to help with re-sizing images. But if all you need is a single image, you should be able to do it with Paint.

What you probably need to do is Resize while Maintaining aspect ratio If it already has the correct ratio for here - but I'm not sure what those are anymore, or even if they are square to begin with, so it may involve a bit more work. (I use Paint.net as my dedicated graphics manipulation app, as I don't do a lot of them, myself).

Let me see if I can get it done really quickly.

Ahh, I can't get the full size one, it's tiny when I tried to DL it lol.

So, the easiest way:

Open the image in MS Paint. make sure the image is fully selected (it normally is by default when you open it, you should see a box around the image).

Click on the resize button.

You should get a popup with numbers - as below:



Change the BY: to Pixels, Make sure Maintain aspect ratio is checked, then type 400 after Horizontal (and vertical should auto fill with 400).



Now save it.

They're all 100x100. This forum will auto resize them to 96x96

Thank you all for your replies I have found the one by ghot works the best as the Paint versions seemed to slice off the sides a bit but there again I am not really savvy enough to play around with graphics.

Thanks for your reply too Mike there certainly are a lot of clever folks around it seems to me as graphics ever since the days of Windows 7 have been a bit of a mystery to me:)
