Vista, Win 11, Win 11 Pro (main PC)
(Win 11 Pro, Outlook as part of Office 2021) Apologies for looking for it offered on a platter but if you read my plight w/Outlook perhaps you might forgive. I have done hours of google search & reading reviews but you folks here don't seem to have any vested interest in recommendations as opposed to some "unbiased" "review" sites.

I'm just so sick of the Win 11 Outlook madness: sometimes doesn't get emails even with a frequency of 1 min overnight. Sometime will only get emails if I close & open Outlook. And today DISAPPERRING emails from my inbox! (posted today)

If I can't fix Outlook (IOW someone giving me the solution) I'm leaving Outlook for Anything that just actually works (as well as my Vista Windows Mail - which never missed a beat for 10 years).

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried Webmail? Most ISPs provide online E-Mail. I haven't used the Microsoft Office Outlook E-mail Client in awhile, have a few accounts such as Hotmail.com from late '90s, Outlook.com [Web], my own Domain Host provided Webmail, Gmail.com, Mail.com. I probably will get a Client but it will be what is included with the SeaMonkey browser from Mozilla.

Welcome to the club ... lucky to get in, membership is probably close to being full these days.

Thunderbird (from Mozilla) - totally freeware, multiple accounts
eMClient (freeware up to 2 accounts. Paid vervion 3 and + accounts, but still worth it. Some similarities to Outlook but much more ameniable to individaul users' requirements)

Yes, free, actively supported, works with all protocols, been around a long time and highly customizable. It has it's drawbacks though. Because it can be optioned to do so many things, the methods of doing so are not always straightforward, but a little web searching resolves it. I was following your other post on your email issue. May I throw one suggestion at you. When using multiple devices with different email apps to receive mail, per account, it is best to use the same email protocol on all devices. (imap or pop) Pop is an old standard from back before mobile devices were able to receive emails and folks had only one computer. Having an account as pop on one device and imap on another can give mixed results. The imap standard is the much preferred way of dealing with emails these days. With imap, when an email is deleted on one device, it's deleted from them all and from the server so your devices are not butting heads in dealing with your email..

I believe thunderbird is no longer supported any more. Problem also for a lot (not all) of modern email clients that setup is often made problematical because of their automated processes. If your email provider isn't in the "standard database", you have different inbound / outbound servers with different account names (user id's) and passwords etc you are hosed up. outlook on the whole works perfectly if you set it up correctly which you can do manually. Other systems also have problems with things like EXCHANGE server accounts used in a lot of corporate work servers etc.
eM Client IMO is the best mail client out there; I switched over from Outlook a couple of years ago and haven't looked back.

The Free version is fairly restrictive -- 2 email accounts and missing things like tracking replies etc.

Pro one is OK if you don't mind paying the fee. Seems though a bit strange to use it as a client itself on outlook when the point of the exercise is to get rid of outlook -- but again some people do have to connect via EXCHANGE servers.

Cheers

Yep, Latest Thunderbird, 91.11.0 was just released on June 28, 2022.

I've been using it for a few years now and have zero issues with it.

Edit: Interesting... My installation reported that it was up-to-date with 91.11.0 (released 6/28/2022) but as Trevo pointed out in his post above the latest is actually 102.0.2 released on 7/12/2022. I manually updated and all is well.

Yes Thunderbird is quite happy with the changes such a oAuth2, used it for years ever since it first appeared, never had a single problem with it.

The point of the exercise is to get rid of the program MS Outlook, not the web based account outlook.com. eMClient presents the opportunity to satisfy both requirements.

I remember trying eM Client a few years back but didn't care for it, liked Thunderbird much better.

@BunnyJ recommended eM Client to me a few years ago. After testing the free version for a while, I found that I liked it enough to upgrade to the paid version.
I still like it but I find that browser email is better for me.

TBH, If I didn't have a load of email accounts, then I'd be happy with webmail.

The OP posts his question and then deserts his post? :) Are you receiving/watching @zinc ? Responses would be nice.

Yes, I agree Thunderbird is brilliant and it has a folder repair option. I recently used this useful feature when I couldn't see an email I know I sent. I 'repaired' the 'Sent' folder with three clicks. Job done.
