Solved Bluescreen Issues After Upgrading to Windows 11

Windows 11
Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with bluescreens that I assume started after I upgraded to Windows 11

  • The Problem: After I upgraded everything seemed fine, at first, but now the system crashes intermittently. These crashes happen both while I’m gaming and when the computer is idle. It’s hard to pinpoint what’s causing them – sometimes I can go hours without any issues, and then I’ll get two bluescreens in quick succession. Also the bluescreen are not readable when they appear because they look all glitched and shifted.
  • Error Codes: The bluescreens show different error codes each time, and I haven’t noticed any consistent patterns. Most are IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY. Always caused by ntoskrnl.exe.
  • Drivers: I’ve installed the latest drivers from the manufacturers’ websites, but the bluescreen problem persists.
  • What I already tried: Tested the RAM sticks with MemTest for several hours. Tried both slots with a single unit and repeated with both. Several passed tests. Tried reinstalling the graphics and chipset drivers in safe mode.

I uploaded the V2 Log Result to Dropbox.
I’d really appreciate any advice or tips you might have!

Thanks a lot for your help!

The collected log files were in a foreign language and could not be scanned.

During the troubleshooting please use English as the default language so that log files can be scanned and read.

Some steps that were performed may be repeated.

Please make sure that images or share links are posted for all steps / tests.

Please perform the following steps: (in sequence)

1) Run Tune up plus > post a share link

2) Create a new restore point

3) Post a new V2 share link using English as the default language so that log files can be scanned and read.

4) Report whether the installed RAM CP16G4DFRA32A.C8FF is or is not on the compatibility / QVL list.

5) Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20s to find malfunctioning RAM.

Plan to run Memtest86+ overnight while sleeping and during the next day.

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The two RAM modules can be tested at the same time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

Check if there is a new version of your BIOS, even Beta one and update to improve compatibility. Then I would update all drivers again, just in case, starting from the chipset because all other devices depend on that.

Also using a utility such as Winaero Tweaker you can prevent automatic restarts after BSOD so you can read it. I think you can also replace the "sad face" with a proper BSOD that gives a specific error code and meaningful information.

Thanks for the suggestions and help so far. Here are the informations and hopefully the V2 Log in English now.

1) The Tune Up Plus results are attached to this post.

2) Restore Point created

3) Here's the new link to Dropbox

4) The RAM is not on the compatible list of the motherboard but its stated as 100% compatible by Crucial (the manufacturer of the DIMMs) for this motherboard.

5) Going to start the RAM Test for both modules now.

BIOS was upgraded to the latest version available already.

I already did those steps 4 days ago (Sep. 12, uninstall with DDU in safe mode and reinstall graphic and chipset drivers). Should I still reinstall them regardless?

Use DDU in Safe Mode and restart before reinstalling the drivers. To go in Safe Mode hold SHIFT and restart the computer. Keep holding it until you see the screen to select Troubleshoot. Select that and then select Advanced Startup Options. The computer will restart and present you a list of options. Select 4 Safe Mode.

1.-2.) I experienced another blue screen after uninstalling the chipset drivers. To resolve the issue, I reinstalled the latest drivers. This allowed me to uninstall and reinstall the chipset drivers properly using the AMD GPU drivers, which include both graphics and chipset drivers. I also used Microsoft's uninstall troubleshooter (Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed - Microsoft Support) and found an AMD Ryzen SDK, which I removed before reinstalling the drivers.

Here's the V2 Log without DV active yet: Dropbox

3.-6.) I activated DV for non-microsoft drivers right now, and will post a link when another BSOD happens.

Disconnect from the internet (pull out LAN cable or enable flight mode if wireless), then restart in Safe Mode to completely remove AMD graphics drivers. Restart the computer again, make sure you are not connected to the internet so Windows Update cannot install any drivers. Install the official AMD graphics drivers you downloaded, select Custom installation and make sure you select everything. If there are any AMD chipset drivers for your chipset, download and install them before the graphics drivers. After you have successfully installed the graphics drivers you may reconnect to the internet.
