I am running w11 v21H2 Build 22000.918 Home, with Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless noise reducing headset. My drivers are reported as all up to date, as is the rest of my system generally. My headset works normally with my phone and TV. It connects normally to my pc, but there is no sound, although once connected, I can detect the noise reducing function kicking in.
If anyone has a solution for this problem, I will be very grateful to hear about it.
Thanks.

Click quick action in bottom right of taskbar then the right arrow of the audio icon, do you get a choice there when the headset is connected?

Yes indeed! I'm still finding my way around w11 and whilst I thought I had a pretty good idea about settings, I clearly have more to learn. So thank you Fabler2 for your quick response and excellent advice. :-)
