Brown boxes Infront of my Thumbnails

Out of nowhere my thumbnails have got little brown boxed in front of them and its saying its unable to open them. This is all files Jpeg, PDF, Excel, word.
All these are saved into our dropbox. 8 other systems linked to the dropbox account don't have a problem and are able to open all the files.
I have read a few threads saying this is a onedrive problem (i don't use onedrive) or the other problem people are saying is Windows 11 (I updated to windows 11 months ago and have had no issues)
This issue has happened overnight.

A couple of posts said, approximately, "I deleted OneDrive and that fixed it". I would like to delete OneDrive, but my attempts haven't worked. Foolishly I let a lot of files pile up there, and then Windows has gotten more aggressive in "deciding" what should be saved in One Drive. I'm blocked when I try to move a large number of files or folders out.
Is there a source of good instructions on deleting OneDrive and moving contents back to local drives?

Have you tried to copy and paste the files and folders to the location you want? I stopped using the move files and folders option a long time ago. If something goes wrong, there is a good possibility that the files and folders can get lost.

@Kupuna - You state "I'm blocked when I try to move a large number of files or folders out." but have you tried downloading copies of the files instead of 'moving' them? If the problem is due to the 'large number of files' then try downloading them in batches of whatever works. For example you may be limited to 50 files/download. After downloading copies of all the files you should be able to delete your OneDrive account if that is what you want to do.
