Browser Managed by your organisation

Hi All

I recently noticed that even when opening up using chrome on my Laptop (HP ProBook 650 G4), my browser is currently showing my default search engine as being yahoo. When I went into settings to change my default browser/search engine, I got the message that my browser is controlled by my organisation. This is my personal laptop. On googling this, I find that it might have something to do with my having upgraded to Windows 11 in December. I have googled various methods of changing this but am very much a layman and need help (step by step) please. I have tried going the route of telemetry, but there is no "allow telemetry" for me to change. there are three family members including me who each have their profile using this laptop. I am listed as administrator with the other two having local accounts. There are no work or school accounts listed.

I did a temp assignment from the beginning of January to March and for the first week I was with them, I had to use this laptop while waiting for my work laptop to arrive, so had to sign in using their VPN. That was only for a week. I have tried looking at my policies on my laptop and cannot see any reference to this company at all where policies are concerned.

I do not know how to fix this issue and regain control of my search engine/browsing options as nothing I have tried so far seems to work

Hi I have managed to sort the browser/ search engine issue, but am still getting the managed by your organisation message

Have a look click here. Check policies set and disable them. Otherwise you could backup your bookmarks and reset the browser.
