My Print Shop programs will not print my projects. I created a ticket at their support site but it often takes them a week or more to reply. I talked to a very helpful person in their sales department. She said they knew of this problem cause by a recent Microsoft update and had a work around. I was hoping someone here knew what this work around is so I don't have to wait a week to get it working again. So does anyone know how to get Bruderbund's Print Shop program to print projects again?

Thanks

It's not mentioned which version of Broderbund Print Shop is being used but I just installed Broderbund Print Shop 23 without issue and printed one of the pre-made pages that needed files from the Image Disc, no issue.

It's not mentioned what printer is being used or the type of connection. I can print to my LaserJet Pro and OfficeJet Pro Networked printers.

I purposely did not specify and version because I have different versions on different computers and they all will not print my projects. It is a known issue with Broderbund caused by one of the latest MS updates. I just heard from them and they have linked me to a patch and I hope that works.

I'm surprised Broderbund is still around.
Back in the mid 80's, I made a whole bunch of 25 pair adapters for them.

They were so pretty, the head honcho came to the place I was working: "Where Ends Meet", just to see who made his adapters. :-)

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
I have a programmer friend that worked for them. He left as he got fed up with putting out buggy software so they could meet a release date.
This was 20 years ago.

I am under the impression that they are "the best known brands in consumer software for over 30 years." Anyway, I just installed their fix and I believe it did some adjustment to the programs themselves because it installed like a new app was being installed. Only took about 3 seconds to install it. I am happy to say that once again all my versions of The Print Shop are working properly once more.

They are a very small company. The bldg. they are in now is about 2,500 sq. ft., and they are a subsidiary of Encore Software.
Back when I did the work for them, they were in an even smaller bldg., maybe 1,500 sq. ft.
I used to live about 5-6 miles away from them.
Small world. :-)

Is there any interest here for me to post a link to the patch? If so, I'll gladly do so, but I am always hesitant when linking to a site other than the one I'm posting in. Especially in this case I have to mention this, when clicking on the link either my Windows Defender or Malwarebytes stopped me from continuing to the download site until I clicked to continue anyway. I believe it was Windows Defender that did it because when Malwarebytes has stopped me in the past I have had to add an exclusion before continuing and I didn't this time. So, does anyone want me to post that link? I am not sure that is allowed in this site. So if anyone wants me to post the link, I’d like an administrator to tell me it is allowed before I post it.

I would love to but I do want an administrator to say it's OK to link to another site. I don't want to be banned for doing something that is not allowed.

I really want to help out anyone who may need this. However, I once was banned for life from a site for posting links that only showed what I was trying to get help with. I was trying to get help defining what I found on the WEB because I didn't understand it. But for some reason someone in authority banned me. I had no way to to contact the administrators of the site to even ask why I was banned. I had never had that happen to me at any of the many sites I have belonged to over the years and don't want it to ever happen again. So I am hoping that an administrator will approve of me posting the link to the fix for The Print Shop not printing projects.

I did read the Terms and Rules once again and these lines in bold from it are my concern. Please see my comments in italics and underlined through out the quotes below.

"You agree to not use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws. 5. No plagiarism.
Could my link be consider this? I'd hope not but it is not something I created.

8. Absolutely no posting of malicious content of any kind, e.g., links, software.
I warned everyone about clicking on the link caused one of my virus protection to kick in and block the site until I gave it further permission. But again, this could be up to interpretation.

I would love to have the patch if you still have the link. If possible please let me know. I can also have you email it to me.

I am not at all sure what happened here. I got permission from, I believe, an administrator to post the link to the patch and I immediately posted it. It appears to be gone so, I'll try again. Hopefully, this will remain here.

You posted a link to a google drive link instead of the mfg's site where the fix is listed. That is why it was removed.
