My computer crashed this morning--I think. While moving a window around on my desktop, the mouse hesitated. Then I clicked on another window but nothing occurred. The mouse finally froze and then the screen went blank. Meanwhile, my logitech keyboard, keypad and mouse are still lit up. The computer fan was running and the lights on like it was awake. I tried a different input into the monitor (from DVI to HDMI) and then connected it to my laptop, showing that the mointor was taking inputs.

Here is the V2 log. There was no minidump. OFFICE-(2023-02-15_11-19-21).zip

Reliability history just shows a generic "hardware error" and "windows was not properly shut down"

I had to hard-reboot to get back in afterward I ran the V2 log. (Also I cannot figure out how to edit my original post).

Hi Shawn,

Apologies for the delay.

Do you still need help?

Hello, Unless it is easy to read through the V2 logs for you, I just need some way to read the V2 .wer files. Or a method of going through them.

I have not had any reoccurring problems of a black screen. It could be the graphics card but that has passed a stress test in the last two months (and it's a new machine from late summer 2022).

I did discover a shortcut key combo to reset the graphics driver if that was the problem.

thank you,

There are typically many WER logs available, and most aren't of any relevance. Most are about unrelated app crashes or some other Windows internal problems that aren't fatal.

You can find somewhat readable WER logs in msinfo32 under Software Environment, but it's literally WERs each in one line.
