After trying to repair, get this:

Advanced options get this:

From here, I tried a couple of system restores to no avail.

1) Were there BSOD or repetitive startup repairs?

If there were BSOD what were the bugcheck names or numbers?

2) Had system restore yet been performed to the oldest restore point?

3) What are the status of the important computer files:
a) files backed up to another drive or the cloud
b) backed up images saved to another drive or the cloud
c) no backed up files or images > files need to be saved
d) no backed up files or images > files do not need to be saved

4) Find two flash drives that you can format and a working Windows computer.

5) Create tools to use on the problematic computer.

6) Test the drive:

Run Sea Tools bootable Long generic test > take pictures > post images or share links

7) On a working computer create a new bootable windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) (Windows 11 iso)

8) Boot to the MCT > troubleshoot > command prompt > notepad

Search for C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt > post a share link

1) Yes there were repetitive start up repairs but I saw no bugcheck names or numbers.
2) Yes, I did try the oldest restore point. It was October 8.
3a) No back up in a very long time.
3b) Will have to look if I have an old back up.
3c & d) I am not sure what these mean.

4) etc. Will start working on this.

I have run all the all the Seatool tests on the SSD drive that Windows runs on.
1730196229779.jpeg

I also ran the long sell and short tests on the on the other drives.

This drive houses my email data
1730196348404.jpeg

This drive holds all the documents and Dropbox files.
1730196431829.jpeg

This is an older drive holding some old stuff.

I have the Media Creation Tool (MCT) (Windows 11 iso) set up on a USB drive. I presume that is my next step since the Windows system drive checks out fine. I will wait a little bit to see if any advises otherwise.

I did boot in the MCT. It gave me options to install or repair. I should go into repair, right? Will this allow me to "Boot to the MCT > troubleshoot > command prompt > notepad"?

The Samsung, Crucial, WD600, WD400 each passed the Sea Tools Long generic test.

If there are important files that are not backed up and need to be saved then consider a custom install.

If there are no hardware problems, it's an efficient method to return to working Windows computer.

A custom install is designed to install a fresh version of Windows 11 and save files to Windows.old.

Drivers and applications need to be reinstalled.

Important files are restored from Windows.old.

If you prefer to troubleshoot then boot to the MCT.

Save any notepad results to a flash drive > move to a working computer with internet access > upload to this thread

Note the system is on drive F when booting off the usb drive. This took a little bit figure out although becomes obvious when I did bcdedit comands. And is this problem, the drive letters got changed?

I would like to isolate figure, figure out the problem rather than do a fresh install and have to re-install all the programs.

2) Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

It was nearly immediate. I let it go for a few minutes.

In anticipation that I need to replace these, could you recommend the specific memory modules? Is this the correct one?

Thanks,

You wrote, and I see you copied this from the SrtTrail.txt:

Code:

Repair action: File repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x57

I did some quick searching for "iastorvd.sys is corrupt" and memory amidst may reason I see can be a cause. Is this what led you to suggest MemTest86+?

Thanks,
Jeff

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

bcdedit /deletevalue {badmemory} badmemorylist

bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

Post a share link.

Please remove all RAM modules.

Check the motherboard's owners manual to see if there is a specific DIMM to use when only one RAM module is used.

And check for two RAM modules and specific DIMM.

Label all RAM modules.

Insert one RAM module at a time in the same DIMM > run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Windows had predicted that RAM regions would fail and blocked these areas from use.

There appear to be additional areas that Windows did not identify.

While testing runs, I have a couple of questions.
  1. If a couple of the memory modules appear to be fine, is it worth it to set up in the two-module configuration and see if Windows runs okay again?
  2. If cost was not a barrier, would it be better to replace all of the memory modules?
    • Thanks for setting up the vendor list for my system. I see that my modules, KF432C16BB/32, are on the list.
Thanks,
Jeff
