Long story short. Windows BSOD with various codes (I see critical process died more than others) when gaming. ONLY when gaming and I've tried multiple games! I can run Prime95/ Linpack/OCCT without any problem. Sometimes there's not even a BSOD, just a black screen with no audio but PC still on but not responding. Manual restart gets me back to login screen. I can't get minidumps or memory dumps to save to the PC.

I've updated all drivers. Tried new RAM sticks. Tried new power supply. Completely formatted my SSD and reinstalled windows. Ran SFC and diskcheck and DISM and memtest86. All without any errors showing. I've put my graphics card into my wifes system and everything runs fine.

The Intel CPU supports RAM speeds up to 2933.

At the time the V2 log ran the RAM speed was at 3600 MHz.

1) Please make sure that there is no overclocking during the troubleshooting.

Turn off XMP

2) Run: (currently requires Ten Forums logon)

Post a share link into this thread.

3) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

msdt.exe -id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic
msdt.exe -id PowerDiagnostic
msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

For each Windows troubleshooter click view detailed information > post images or share links into this thread

4) Run HD Tune: (free or trial version) (test all drives)
Post images or share links for results on these tabs:
a) Health
b) Benchmark
c) Full error scan

5) Run Sea Tools for Windows
long generic test
Post images or share links.

6) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
chkdsk /b /v

Run on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk/b /v C: or chkdsk /b /v D: or chkdsk /b /v E: etc.

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19043.1706]
(c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /b /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type: Y

Run the chkdsk switches on the Windows drive overnight as it can take significant time.

7) Turn off Window fast startup:

8) Read this link on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

Learn the methods to turn off the tool in safe mode using:

verifier /reset

or

verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

Please do not use WDV until it is communicated in this thread.

9) These tests can be performed overnight:
a) HD Tune Full error scan
b) Sea Tools for Windows long generic test
c) Chkdsk /b /v

10) Post an image or share link for disk management:

a) widen these rows: disk 0, disk 1, disk 2, etc > make sure that no characters are cut off

b) widen these columns: Status and Volume > make sure that no characters are cut off

1. My XMP is fine. I've tested without and same BSOD happens. Plus I've ran memtest86.
2. Will run when I get home today
3. Will run when I get home
4. Already ran with no errors
5. Already ran with no errors
6. No errors
7. Fast startup was one of the first things I turned off when I built my PC and is still off.
8.Verifier has been running over night and I've started verifier and opened my game causing my PC to BSOD but no error logs get saved. No minidumps. No memory.dmp like I said.
9. Again I've already ran those programs multiple times with out error. All benchmark run fine. Literally just games. Specifically Warzone and Fortnite are the main offenders.
10. I'll post more screen shots later today. I can also post a video of exactly what I see when it crashes.

I feel like if I get memory dumps and minidumps to happen then we would be in better shape but every time my PC crashes there's no dump files. How could this be?

Just to be clear there's no overclock enabled. And I've tried completely different RAM with the same results also tried different slots on the motherboard. The logs you attached are from a old hard drive that's no longer connected. Only Volume C:

Okay I'll run everything listed one more time today and I'll post screenshots. All I was saying is I've done every single one of these steps before because I posted on Windows Forums asking for help a few weeks ago. They recommended all the exact same steps as you said. But I'll run through them again with verification pics for you

The Intel CPU supports RAM speeds up to 2933.

At the time the V2 log ran the RAM speed was at 3600 MHz.

Be aware they're just listing the official stated JEDEC spec for RAM (which really needs to be re-evaluated and updated), as according to them, NO module should run past 2933, but we all know this isn't true since modules way above this are sold by various vendors, and are warranted to run above those speeds via XMP.

Additionally, the OP's board (Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Ultra) can support up to DDR4-5000, so unless the board (or RAM) is an issue, the 36000Mhz RAM should be fine and not cause issues. My Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Extreme has been running DDR4-3600 RAM since I bought it and has never had an issue with my Intel i9-9900K CPU. And it lists memory as DDR4-2666

All that said, I do agree the OP should temp disable XMP see how the system fairs. If the issue goes away, consider either the RAM, board, or CPU as a possible issue - more likely RAM or board.

My two cents.

True that, Exact same CPU here and running at 3600. Its not that it shouldn't run past it, Easiest way i think of it is, If you had one GPU and got 60fps in a game, and you added another of the same gpu, you're not gonna get 120fps. More like 70-90 in most cases. You'll get extra % by running it higher, Just anything above 2933mhz is as valuable as it would be if it was within the 2933 if that makes sense, Similar to gpu comparison above.

But yeah for troubleshooting etc i'd turn all that off just because yeno..troubleshooting.
I hope you get to the bottom if it

In my screenshot of event viewer, Chkdisk shows "Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems. No further action required." I don't have a capture card so that's the best I got for proof.

I cannot get HD Tune to display anything under the Health report tab.

There has two live kernel dmp files, one related to USB and the other possibly to a GPU. Based on the starter mentioned black screen and PC stopped responding. There may be more related to the GPU, although there are no more livekernel dmp files.

If the WDV testing ruled out misbehaving drivers then move to hardware testing:

Some of these steps may have already been performed.

For all tests make sure that images or share links are posted into this thread.

1) Select one of these temperature monitoring software:

Speccy: Download Speccy | Find your computer specs, free!

HW Monitor64: HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID

Speedfan: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

2) Run Prime95 for 3 or more continuous hours
Make note of the links warning section so that you know if and when to to abort testing.
Record the maximum temperature and the continuous test duration.
Post images or share links using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

3) Run Furmark for 30 minutes
Make note of the links warning section so that you know if and when to to abort testing.
Post images or share links using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

4) Run OCCT for 1 hour tests
Post images for results on these tabs:
