Can Clock On Taskbar show seconds?

That's pretty much my question. Can the Clock On the Taskbar show the time in seconds? I don't see that option in the right click menu.

Unfortunately, MS took that away in Win 11, why is anyone's guess. I would say it because they like to play with the taskbar a lot and it got in the way.

Anyhow, there is a little app called ElevenClock that works just fine to restore it, with some extra options. Give this a read and see if it might work for you. I've been using it since it came out. (It's free........... :wink:

I'm a short-term market trader and I require the ability to display time in seconds. My trading platform, Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation, has the option to display time in seconds on any trading chart I'm using, so I'm good and don't need to display seconds on the taskbar.

I place a high value on having maximum screen real estate, so I use the option to autohide the task bar. The taskbar is only displayed if I either move the cursor to the bottom of the screen or I tap the Windows Key.

I read online sometime ago the reason Win 11 does not have an option to display seconds on the taskbar clock was driven by MS belief that it required too much system resources that were better utilized elsewhere in the OS.

Thanks f14Tomcat. It appears the app you recommended will do the job nicely. I like that I can also show day of week now as well. It was available before by hovering the mouse over the clock.

It has an option to have a second clock at the other end of the taskbar. Not sure under what circumstances that would be desirable, just shows how many features they tried to put into the app.

ElevenClock is the only solution that I found without replacing the Taskbar altogether.
You can customize what is displayed. I also include the day.

If displaying time in seconds makes a dent in your system resources, you have a pitifully underpowered system.

May be wrong, but I believe that tweak in Winaero does the same as Shawn's tweak, which works in Win 10, but MS euthanized it in 11.

I think I tried the Winaero method once. It worked until the 1st time I rebooted. :/

Not ideal but if you open the control panels Time&Date applet it will show both an analogue and digital time format with counting seconds, this continues to work even without focus.
Unfortunately there is no window control other than 'close' and this method of clock display will only last until MS move the whole control panel over to the new settings style.
