I had thought about how to answer but a couple things prevented that, one is there's no hint about what program is involved and your My Computer has absolutely nothing in it worthwhile. Check your Profile, click on your user name on the Toolbar above for what to include in My Computer, it's all in your machine.

Welcome to the forum. I am assuming you are referring to Edge bookmarks. Correct?

Click the ellipsis(...) and select favourites. Click ellipsis again on favorites page. Click 'open favorites page'
It opens to your favorites bar. To get to all your other favorites, click the 3 horizontal lines at the top.
You can select multiple or single entries using the checkboxes.
You can delete using the X to the right, by right clicking and selecting delete, or by choosing several at a time and clicking the delete button at the top.
Also on this page you can organize your favorites in folders. Just hover your mouse over the icons at the top and it tells you what each one does.
This will tell you everything about organizing Edge favorites. How to manage favorites on Microsoft Edge

If you are referring to another browser, the method is similar.
Chrome - Create, view & edit bookmarks - Computer - Google Chrome Help
Firefox - How do I delete a bookmark? | Firefox Help

Using Mozilla Firefox, I want to clarify my Post here.
Top right hand corner - three bars.
On clicking this icon drop down menu - Bookmarks.
Only wish to keep relevant in use Bookmarks here.
On deleting them, for some reason they are also deleted elsewhere - I do not want this.
How can I do both please?

Using Mozilla Firefox, I want to clarify my Post here.

On deleting them, for some reason they are also deleted elsewhere - I do not want this.
How can I do both please?
Both "areas" of Bookmarks are linked, deleting from one will update the other. Neither are isolated personal storage areas for selected bookmarks of the user's choosing. You can't keep/delete one bookmark in one area (Bookmarks toolbar and/or hamburger icon > Bookmarks) without the action being correspondingly reflected in the other area.

Contact Mozilla. Also, they have their own forums where this might be raised. Your search engine wil be your friend.

However, to tell you the truth, I suspect it will be a fruitless and pointless exercise.

On the non-hamburger bookmarks you have two un-deletable folders you can use.
Bookmarks Toolbar and Other Bookmarks. And as you know, you can create any folders you want.

Maybe seeing makes it easier to understand. In "Manage Bookmarks" you see a normal file tree structure with the folders and shortcuts you have set up on your FF Bookmarks Toolbar at the top.
Your other bookmarks are at the bottom. This example show a folder named Microsoft I have on my toolbar marked in white.
Other bookmarks folder is marked in yellow. You can organize ANY folder just as you would working in file explorer without it affecting anything else.

Please correct me if I am wrong here.
Previously I could have sworn that I could have added and deleted entries to the Hamburger version of Bookmarks, without them being effected elsewhere?
This operation was incredible easy, not complicated and user friendly.

I want to try and see if this is possible for this system to be reverted back to what it was.

Not sure by what you mean by 'elsewhere'. In the file structure tree you choose which folder to delete from, just as when you add a bookmark you choose which folder you want to add a bookmark to. If you wish, you can duplicate bookmarks in multiple folders in both the toolbar and bookmarks menu simply by adding them in both places.

If you have FF set to sync, you see whatever changes you make on all your computers. If you don't want to sync FF across your devices, turn sync off in FF profile settings.

Whether you use the (1)'hamburger manage bookmarks' or (2)click on the icon for 'show your bookmarks' to delete or edit a bookmark, you are accomplishing the same exact thing. The 2 methods of managing bookmarks are not independent of each other. Change in one place and it's changed in the other. The former method (1) is mainly used when one wants to make multiple changes, drag and drop, change order they appear, do a lot of renaming, etc. The latter method (2)is basically for a quick change on the fly.
This is not new. It is the way FF is designed and has worked this way for years.

Talking at cross purposes I think here, let me try again.

Hamburger Bookmarks, just like to add and delete without it doing anything else.
I believe this was once possible, correct or not?
If correct who can I get in touch with, to try and get this back?

As has been stated multiple times, it is how Firefox is designed to work and FF offers no methods for the user to change it. You would need to take it up with the folks at Mozilla if you have a beef with the design of how their application functions. If what you want was ever possible, it had to be in a very old version of FF. I've used FF for years and do not remember it being much different.

Once hamburger bookmarks is opened, you go to the bottom and click 'manage bookmarks' From there, when you right click on a folder or individual bookmark, there are options to open, delete, cut, copy, add bookmark, add folder, add separator. If you are unhappy with this right click menu, since it is hard-coded into FF, you can not change it. It is not a windows function but a FF function so it would be something you would have to take up with Mozilla.

Contacts, Spaces and Communities — Contact us been there, done that, no adequate response.
So is this just a refelection of Mozilla?
Any other contact suggestions please, I mean there must be someone who takes this browser seriously?
Would suggest to me that Mozilla don't think the time, effort and cost of (re)programming a piece of software is worth it. Simply the want of one individual user.

Don't like Mozilla, plenty of others around ...
Edge
Brave
Opera
Vivaldi
Safari
ad infinitum.

Try 'em, see if any do what you want.
