I am setting up W11 Pro on a computer that I bought with it installed. It uses a DisplayPort connector to my Dell U2410, which formerly connected to my W10 computer via HDMI. Everything is a lot smaller. Enlarging the text did not work, as the taskbar and text in everything is too small. I found online instructions for a setting to Make Everything Bigger, but perhaps these instructions referred to an earlier W11 version. The path in the instructions is not there.

I have read a tutorial that says you can change the display settings and just fish around until they are not fuzzy.

Is there a better way to do what I want to do? I paid for a high-res monitor because I need the sharper text. I cannot go back to HDMI because on this computer the monitor must plug into the nvidia displayport.

I just right-click the Desktop and look in Display Settings and in Personalize for all the things one can set or reset. Start with the Recommended resolution then the Scaling.

Scale shows strong warnings about changing this, including saying apps won't work and changes may be irreversible.

That is only if you chose a scaling factor. Select one of the pre-defined scaling factors instead such as 100%, 125%, 150%, 175%, etc.

The five 8TB drives and three 512GB SSDs are part of a DrivePool using StableBit DrivePool software. The three SSDs are devoted purely to caching for the 8TB drives. All of the important data is stored in triplicate so that I can withstand simultaneous failure of 2 disks.

Just choose one of the preset scaling factors, starting with the ...% (Recommended) V settings.

No need to go to the Customised scaling, the warning panel there is a bit overzealous.

Display resolution should also be set to (Recommended) for most, if not all the time. That is the native resolution of the display panel.
