Cannot login to Instagram or Facebook via Edge or Firefox browser. This is a recently problem in the last two weeks. I have access via IOS iphone and ipad.

I have separated my two accounts (different emails & passwords), cleared all cookies, etc. in both browsers, etc. It either skips the login completely after the Captcha or says my account doesn't exist.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, MS

Try logging in using incognito:

Open Edge
Press Ctrl+Shift+N
Try logging in both.

If it works, then you may have installed an extension that is causing the issue; same with Firefox.

Also:
In Edge, paste the following in the address bar:

edge://settings/privacy

Under Tracking prevention, set it to Balanced (or temporarily toggle it Off to test).

Also:
open Command Prompt as an admin. Paste the two lines separately:

ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset

If all the above fails, do you have a VPN that you're running?

Hello Pepanee,

I do not use a VPN.

Thank you for the help. A complete mystery.

Try logging in using incognito:

Open Edge
Press Ctrl+Shift+N
Try logging in both.

Tried before and it didn't work in both browsers. Did it again, still not working.

In Edge, paste the following in the address bar:

edge://settings/privacy

Under Tracking prevention, set it to Balanced (or temporarily toggle it Off to test).
Set for balanced.

open Command Prompt as an admin. Paste the two lines separately:

ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Nope. Still taking me to the Captcha page and then telling me my account doesn't exist.

1) This may sound strange: Make sure your computer's clock/date is set to the correct time/date.

2) Change your DNS settings to Google's Public DNS: 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
(if you don't know how to change this, there's tutorials online to help with that)
Here's a link: How to Change DNS Servers on Windows 11

Evening All,

I finally found a way to fix the problem(y). Removed cookies, DNS flush, etc. Installed another browser, Chrome. Nothing seem to work.

Separated my two accounts, Facebook & Instagram (I think that's what started the problem). Different emails for these accounts.
Used my ipad/;IOS settings for Instagram. Removed the sign-in for Windows.
Then on Windows tried logging back in and it still didn't recognize the account.
Used the forgot password with my email, sent a link to my account e-mail and updated.
Rebooted Windows and I was able to finally sign-in to Instagram regardless of the web browser.

Weird ... never had this happen!

Many thanks for the advice,

ms;-)
