Can't Delete Items on Desktop

I've got a series of icons on my desktop (all from automatically saving a pdf file as jpg) that won't delete. The following error message comes up when I try to delete (see screenshot).




I've done a file search both on my pc and on my onedrive account and can't find any trace of the files or shortcuts in any of them

Any ideas on how to delete them. (Most of the google searches make an assumption that there are actual files or directories to delete.)

Have your checked C:\Users\Robin\Desktop for the items? The path shown in the message shows OneDrive [C:\Users\Robin\OneDrive\Desktop] and the items may not be there.

Yes, that directory was checked as was the whole PC
