Solved Casting to a Google Home requires the casting app to remain in the foreground

I have been testing Edge to cast media from my Windows 11 PC to my Google Home. I works well but only if Edge remains in the foreground. When I use some other App, or if I minimise Edge, the output on Google Home is corrupted. Activating Edge resumes the cast media output.

Is there a way of making the Edge background instance maintain full transmission to Google Home even when minimised?

I haven't a clue!!!
That glitch is certainly dickered though!!!

... doesn't happen on Windows 10!

Yes, the glitched sound is quite Orcish

I'm thinking that there might be an Edge plugin music player that can be permitted to run in the background. I'll investigate.

Must have something to do with Chrome Audio Mirroring, YouTube goes nuts but SoundCloud works!

Well, I tried a lot of ways to achieve multiple file playback but all failed for one reason or another until I tried VLC.

VLC is chromecast enabled and will continue to cast when in the background, plays all the media types I'm interested in and handles playlists ok. Problem solved!
