Certain games remove mouse pointer trails.

For some reason, when I boot up various games (from xbox, steam, and epic games), it removes my mouse pointer trails. Not all games, but quite a few (including but not limited to Trailmakers, Outer Wilds, Deep Rock Galactic, Subnautica Below Zero). Is there a way to prevent them from turning off pointer trails so I don't have to turn them back on every time I boot a game?
