I have a laptop and I have a desktop, both running Windows 11 Pro 22H2.

On my laptop, I have configured a three fingers touch on the touchpad to act as a middle button click. When I connect using RDP to my desktop, it acts like what how it does by default on Windows, that is opening the search. However, even when I'm connected via RDP, the touchpad settings are missing on the desktop.

Is there a way to force them to appear, or to manually configure the touchpad behaviour?

The issue also happens with the newly added Mouse Without Borders when I control the desktop using the laptop

Hi,
On laptop open RDP
On the bottom off this click Show Options
Click Tab Local Resources
Under Keyboard in the fly out menu select On this computer.

Now what you want is working. It might mess up other functionality........
But hey, give it a try.

Ciao, Han

Well it works, but honestly not having access to keyboard combos is even worse.

aaand i should've just googled a bit harder...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PrecisionTouchPad\

This doesn't explicitly list the values for the three and four fingers tap, but I see them on my laptop's registry:
1685616511795.png
The key existed on my desktop too, the values did not, but I just created them (DWORDs)
Then they can be set to these values:
ThreeFingerTapEnabled / FourFingerTapEnabled
0 - Disabled
1 - Open search
2 - Notifications centre
3 - Play/pause
4 - Central click

It's also possible to do the same for the three/four finger scrolling (not in the picture since I had them on default):
ThreeFingerSlideEnabled / FourFingerSlideEnabled
0 - Disabled
1 - Change app and show desktop
2 - Change desktop and show desktop
3 - Change audio and volume

And finally, I needed to log off and back on on the desktop for the changes to take effect
