The way I read this some OFC365 users won't have a choice(by 2026) but perpetual OFC licenses have until 2029.

I love my Outlook 2021 to manage 5 accounts (2 MS, 2 ISP, 1 gmail)but won't use it without Classic. If I'm still around by 2029 (doubtful) I will have to seek another email solution.. Outlook New is a crock of donkey dung and I don't think I could go back to webmail (which I fully expect MS will do away with for MS provided email accounts at some point in the near future).

I also have Outlook 2021. Normally it has the classic interface. At the top right there is an option to switch to the new interface. You can switch back at any time. I have tried that but will stick with the classic one for now.

From the Microsoft Store I downloaded and installed the free Outlook for Windows. It appears to be the same as Outlook 2021 running with the new interface. I have it pinned to my taskbar so can quickly launch it.

I find that Outlook for Windows more convenient so use it much more often than Outlook 2021 now.

i disabled and hid that toggle from mine. never going to switch.. there will be a way to continue using classic. i guarantee it.

What's an "MS Outlook problem" I don't get any issues? I'm using Office suite 2024 with Publisher 2019.

I think all the latest features only show up in the 365 versions!

i use 2021 as i upgrade from 2016, but have yet to run into a feature that 365 has been granted that i havent been able to manually implement in 2021. will probably be the last version i purchase. SaaS is a ripoff, no matter which company provides it.

They’re going to honor classic until at least 2029, because they committed to that. It could be longer.

There are things New Outlook doesn’t support, like all the COM- and VSTO-based add-ons in the corporate world. And I believe New Outlook doesn’t support PST files, which is going to be a problem for businesses, as much as I hate that businesses still use PSTs, but that’s a soapbox for another time. Point is, there are real development issues that have to be addressed. and that could push this thing out beyond 2029.

Apparently, MS are going to introduce pst files in the New Outlook starting in 2025.

they're releasing the ability to allow reading PST files. why only a half-measure... nobody knows (but its not a surprise with Microsoft)
