Solved Clicking on System Icons (WiFi, Sound, Time/Date, Power) Does Nothing
Hi all,
I just upgraded to Windows 11. I also installed StartAllBack but I'm not sure if that's the issue or not, but clicking on the system icons doesn't show any flyout menus or options. I turned off the enhanced taskbar in StartAllBack and restarted shell but they still didn't work in classic taskbar.
What else might have broken this?

Open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges and execute
Sfc /Scannow
command to repair corrupted system files.
This tutorial will show you how to reset the notification icons cache to fix any corrupted icons and remove any old icons from the taskbar system tray for your account in Windows 11. The system tray on the taskbar corner and taskbar corner overflow menu in Windows 11 shows the notification...

I uninstalled StartAllBack, re-did SFC and also ran the batch file from this site, and I still get no flyouts.
Actually, I installed Win11 on another system too and that one also has the same problem...

If both computer having same problem, then it's Windows 11 installation media that is the problem, did you create the installation media with Windows 11 media creation tool?
Also install all important Windows updates.

All -
I figured this out. The two computers I had a problem with were both in-place upgrades from Windows 10. On those installations, I had Action Center disabled with Winaero Tweaker. Turns out the upgrade kept that setting and that breaks the system icon panels.
I generally don't do upgrades, but I know I will have to deal with it on other systems, so I figured I'd try it. I did just clean install the one system just to get a feel for the OOTB route.
Clean install on a new SSD = Great
My clean install of W11 on a new 980 Pro 500GB is flying.
Glad you got it sorted
