Complex searches, especially involving dates

Windows Explorer has a simple search function - just enter a word in Search. It is also possible to use more complex searches using for example Word1 AND Word2 or Word1 NOT Word2. There are lots of other types of modified searches which may be listed somewhere - I found a few.
The problem one for me is dates, particularly for photos.
In another forum, Dates in photo metadata, I triggered a long thread (and sometimes heated debate) regarding dates and photos - created, modified, saved, those used by Windows, EXIFF, and so on. And the problem is compounded I think by Windows re-dating an image that is moved from one folder to another. To quote Leo (an author of DOPUS) "Photo metadata is a mess of standards, names, and implementations."

I am trying to identify all photos taken in 2022 so date:>01/10/22 should do it but it also finds modified dates.

Is there any definitive guide around, or separate app, for searching all the possible parameters stored with files, especially photos. The question regarding dating of files and what governs date changes seems very complicated,

I must be missing something, my cameras put a date on the file when a picture is taken and can be relied on to show in File Explorer as the date taken if properly set in the cameras. They will transfer as a group in a folder when copied or moved from the SDHC card and retain those dates. As to the process of File Explorer, the list of files in a folder can be sorted directly in the Details View by clicking the column heading for ascending or descending in Name, Size, Date, Type [format].

If it helps any, there is some information about Advanced Search criteria here:

according to which, this might work:
Code:
kind:picture datetaken:>01/01/2022
or
kind:picture datetaken:This Year
