I need to reset my google password. First they want to send a code to my email, fine no problem, Then they want to send a second text code to my cell phone. The problem is that I do not have one capable of receiving a text message. I have tried to reach them about this and no dice. Anyone have a solution to this or a work around?

About half way down the page is a section titled Can't sign in for another reason. Click on the link, get help signing in.

You'll see an option to "You can't reset your password with a code by text."

Click that option and see if that will help.

What kind of cell phone do you have that can not receive a text?

If there is a landline number associated with your account, you can often receive an SMS and it will be read out to you.

SMS to my understanding only works in the United States and not Canada

Not the centre of the universe! Just ask a friend to text your landline.

I must be missing something.

I thought Google only tried to use the secondary notification method if the first one did not work.
