Corrupt Bios

I have hp 255 g8 laptop with corrupt Bios. I tried to download Bios file on hp website and put in on flash trying to boot with it but the combination keys can't work and read the flash, what can I do then?

@Elias - Have you tried pressing the F10 key repeatedly from the instant you switch laptop on? If so then what messages do you see regarding corrupt BIOS? How do you know for sure that the BIOS is corrupted?

If you show photos of the screen when trying to boot it will help others to help you.

I tried to take the picture it can't be uploaded because the server says its too large, but when in press F9, F10 or ESC, nothing happens, the only message on screen is " The Bios recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted. I have to use external USB with Bios file from HP website to recover the Bios"

To post a screenshot on this forum...

1. Take the screenshot, edit it as desired, save to your desktop as .png or .jpg (max. size = 2MB)
2. Left click in your post, where you want to place the screenshot.
3. Click the Attach Files button at lower left, browse to your pic and click Insert.
4. After clicking Insert, I usually choose the Thumbnail option.

To add to Ghot's advice, even MS Paint can be used crop and resize images to get the file size down to acceptable limits for this forum.

If you download and run the BIOS update utility, it includes the option to create a USB BIOS recovery drive.

Did you do that? Just copying the .exe won't work.

I created that, that Bios file automatically tells you how to write it on flash, I did that but never gets detected when pressing W + B keys, I don't know where the problem is at the moment

OK.

When asking for help troubleshooting, it's useful to supply enough detail to help the helpers. ("Enough" may be hard to guess. Too much information, and people may not want to read the post.)

Did the USB write go properly? Tthere will be a couple of folders created on the drive, and it'll be renamed to HP_Tools, or something like that.

The only other thing I can suggest is using the third option to write the bare BIOS files to the root of the USB drive. I'm guessing from your screen shot (post 9) that the laptop has an auto-recovery mode, and it's looking for a BIOS file at the root level of the USB drive.

I should mention that I don't have a similar laptop, and haven't been through a BIOS recovery of this type.

I'm probably being too literal-minded, but did you press the Windows key (not W)?
