I can just see the MS folk, standing around the water cooler,
laughing at users struggling with Settings, while they use God Mode. :D

I know God Mode has been around since Windows XP.
If it was there before that... I didn't know about it.

It works, but there's a problem. You can't "name" the folder. It auto-deletes the folder name.

It's always left the folder with no name.
It's not really a folder.

Bad (wrong) syntax, correct is
Code:
%windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
And it deletes the name also because this wrong syntax.

Seeing that you can't directly give GodMode a visible name. I got around that by creating folder and named it GodMode. I opened GodMode that I created. I highlighted everything there and made shortcuts in my GodMode Folder. I moved GodMode into another folder and kept My GodMode folder on the desktop with all the shortcuts.

Seeing that you can't directly give GodMode a visible name. I got around that by creating folder....
It's simpler to create a new shortcut on your desktop with this target:

%windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Then you can name it anything you like, you can also give it a pretty icon if you like.

1627246841544.png

Better yet, cut that schortcut and past it into: %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

1627247053781.png

Then it will be on your All apps list.

1627247367345.png

Once you have it there you can pin it to Start.

When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

One advantage doing it @Lance1 's way is having a cascading folder structure, especially when using QTTB...

Your mission Bree, should you choose to accept it, is to figure out how to add the God Mode folder to the right click context menus. :D

And, while you're at it... the Taskbar too. :-)

Pretty much. :)

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet that CLSID number [ {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} ] has something directly to do with... Control Panel.

Yeah. I just did a search in Regedit for that CLSID number and 1st result had to do with Control Panel.

The only real advantage from using God Mode folder, is less "clicking".
Everything is just one click.

Control Panel is pretty much... more efficient.
