Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19045)
I've been a developer for over 40 years, have built my own systems, and am familiar with the Windows ecosystem.
I'm currently running W10/22H2 and W11/21H2 and my systems are qualified for upgrade.

To those who "doom scroll", the daily news (and republication of old news with a new date) would have us believe Windows 10 is a nightmare of ongoing security issues, Windows 11 upgrades may result in failure to boot and other random issues ... and yet users are being pushed to W11 anyway. There is some truth and some exaggeration in any such public commentary. The problem is that consequences and choices aren't clear for the average user or even company admins.

Looking more closely it seems to me that W11/23H2 is pretty stable, and 24H2 issues might only affect a small number of devices.

In this poll I'm hoping to get a general feel-good sense of the state of Windows 11.

There are always individual anecdotes of issues and success. The world isn't perfect. Please don't vent your anger on a specific version based only on your own experience - or praise a platform because that's the only one you know. I'm looking for broader insight.

This will help me and I hope others to decide if and where they're going to move.

Thanks!

By and large, 24H2 is quite stable but has a few minor bugs but nothing that significant. The FE 3 dots bug is easily fixed with vivetool.

To put things in context, it took W10 about 3 years before significant issues such as freezing, lagging etc were fully sorted.

Of course, we still get posts about performance but in most cases, the poster is still using an HDD, and changing to an SSD (plus upgrading RAM to minimum 8GB) sorts most issues.

Most of the growing pains are all gone from 23H2 so it's become quite stable. 24H2 is still in the middle of it's growing pains but I imagine it will get there eventually.

23H2 run fine on 2 HP all in ones. upgrade to 24H2 failed on both but a clean install went fine.
SFC /scannow is now working
disk clean-up is still playing up
the explorer 3 dot menu issue fixed itself
all MS software is uninstalled and replaced with other tried and trusted software.

no major problems just a few niggles which i have sorted.
apart from that all running fine with the latest updates.

best of luck, Steve ..
