Hi folks
I've got a friends W2019 Server with MySQL (the free one - not Ms's SQL server) with an older (Free version) of MySQL on it. All the modern open source people seem to be going for MariaDB which has same command syntax etc . I use also MariaDB on a Linux web server with Apache and PHP. This can be done on Windows - so should I convert the DB to MariaDB or as they say "Just let sleeping dogs lie". My gut feel as an old School Engineer is that "If it Ain't Broken - Don't fix it".
However would be interesting to note of any significant differences between the two systems -- the FREE open source version of MySQL and the Mariadb system.
Anybody here running Apache web servers using either of these DB systems on W10/W11, W2091 or W2022 server.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers
