Dead Bug Found Underneath an Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU Core

I have a horror story that relates to this so I can see how it could have happened.
I was asked to replace a laptop keyboard. When I opened it up I noticed miniscule dots coming out of it faster than I could squash them. It was a roach nest. Every component inside was completely brown from roach crap.

Thousands of those suckers were crawling all over me and my workbench and I knew they would infest my house. I panicked and literally threw the laptop out my back door as I rushed to grab bug spray to spray myself and everything in my workroom. Then I went outside and heavily sprayed the laptop. I was so mad, I didn't care if I damaged it. I left it where it lay.

That incident cost me a cussing, a full home extermination fee, threat of a lawsuit, and a Facebook bashing from the disgruntled owner. I didn't hear any more about it though after I gave my scathing response along with public photos of how disgusting the inside of the laptop was and the dead roach nymphs all overy my bench.

So yeah, a bug nymph could have gotten under the GPU and began to mature before it died.

I wish.
I encountered a lot of crazy things when I actively worked for the public but that was by far the most disgusting. For days afterwards I couldn't sleep because I still felt those things on me. I felt them crawling on me all over again while as I was writing the post.

All I can imagine is that in such a tight space, it's possible that in the place where the GPU or pc was assembled, some small fly or flying insect laid an egg thereabouts, and it hatched into a larva and then the adult bug. It would have been interesting if they had gotten someone that could id it.

Not the first it happened, the term of a bug in a computer is reputed to have started when Grace Hopper found a dead bug in the circuitry of a computer at Harvard in the late '40s. Her fame came as a Naval officer, retired as a Rear Admiral mid-80s. Heard lots of stories about her when I was active late '50-early '60s.

Yeah but, back then , computers were the size of a small room. Lots of space to have bugs around.
This , however, is supposed to be manufactured in a clean room.

Ha! I live in the Australian bush and constantly have to dodge Eastern Brown snakes, scorpians.. you name it and I have had to run away from it. I mean literally jump and run. When a snake is 24” away from your foot whilst outside typing away merrily.. you kind of dirty your pants a little, very rude in my opinion, try telling a snake that though.
I wish it were only bugs, life would be less stressful

Last week, a possum ran off with my cigarettes. And in regards to bugs, I have had a Red Back spider in my case. That was a close call.

It’s often in winter, the snakes will find somewhere warm to hibernate. A computer case sounds like a nice spot.
I did have a cockroach shredded in a PC fan once, but if something started crawling out of my keyboard, I’d probably burn my house down.

I do appreciate the thought. I like to tell the "youngsters" that some of the most important people in service are not carrying the guns, I was Air Traffic Controller for a while on a carrier and the Naval Air Station last 2 years when President JFK would arrive to visit either family or the Naval War College.

I don't think it matters what position you hold in the Services. I know for a fact that, it's not easy. I have friends and
Uncles that have told me stories that I just don't like to revisit. It does take special people to enroll.

I was in primary school when JFK was assassinated. I remember it like it was yesterday. I do believe that the
whole world was in shock.

No, sorry to say I did not but did get to see him deplane in front of Operations where I worked. Only famous politician I had the honor of meeting was John Glenn when he and wife flew into Colorado for their daughter's wedding late '70s.
