Solved Deleting the hiberfil. sys file

Run this command powercfg -h off at 'Terminal (Admin)' but 'hiberfil. sys' file is not deleted.

Can anyone help with this?

Try using cmd prompt as admin. Type powercfg -h off

If I click Advanced or Next, there is no 'Detailed Information' button to select. Using @Brink registry edit

and hiberfil. sys file is still there.

An attempt to manually delete it also fails- I have admin rights

FIXED!!

I contacted Dell Tech Support, and they found that the permissions on 'hiberfil. sys' had been set up incorrectly - changed and now deleted.

P.S. I only received this workstation from Dell on 5 June - so this points to a ?@-$up by Dell in their build processess.

EDIT: The erroneus permissions were USER permissions, not those for the file itself.

No. The file only had permissiions for 'everyone'. As soon as 'admin' was given full permissions, the file was able to be deleted
