I wouldn't update the BIOS unless one of the following things exists.
1 You're having issues with the BIOS
2 You need to get a newer version to support a more current CPU
3 You want it to default TPM 2 to on.

I have a new motherboard and all I did to it was to activate TPM 2 firmware version and I did that by going into the BIOS. I can't see anything that would be urgent to upgrade a BIOS.

It is never a problem updating the bios, as there are several things in the Dell version of bios update, done it a few times on my Alienware and once before on the dell, never had any problems although I must say after todays I was greeted with a black screen and white cursor after the restart after a second restart all was fine. I have noticed on this one, quite often I have to do a second restart for changes to dell things to work

Oh wow.. that could be cause by many things and I don't know if the BIOS is one of them. An update really can't hurt to see if that's the issue.

Not to bothered about it Jeff, that's the sort of things that happen with Dell/Alienware. The good thing, fingers crossed it continues is they always work and sort themselves out with a reboot

Support Assist. If it shows more than 1 update available to you and you feel you need them, download and install them one at a time. Otherwise you'll never know when the installs are finished. I never use the 'cleaner' in it because who knows what it's deleting and from where. The only things I bother with in it are the drivers(downloads) and the longer 'test'.

Do not update BIOS with support assist. We have seen bricked PC's on the Dell forums updating BIOS with Support Assist.
Our suggestion to user is only do manual download and update BIOS.

I can't answer why SA is not seeing the BIOS update unless its a Win 11 SA glitch. We have seen reports of a couple users with varied problems due no Win 11 specific updates.

Here is the Dell procedure to uninstall SA and reinstall latest version, if you want to try it.
