Solved Desktop icons!

Hi,

After having clicked on remains highlighted with a squarish box lining around, need to re-click the mouse to get it removed.

Any ideas how to correct it? In visual setting what requires to be unchecked.

PS: It's a clean install of W11 Pro on a new M.2 PCI Gen 4 NVMe SSD.

That appears to be normal, keeps the focus until clicking elsewhere. Mine also shows a small checkmark at upper right corner in addition to the usual arrow at lower left corner denoting a shortcut.

One more bit about the shortcuts on the Desktop, clicking on an icon or anywhere on the Desktop has hovering to show the location of the actual file the shortcut is associated with except for Edge and the Recycle Bin which have their own description.
