Desktop PC completely powering down and Start button becoming unresponsive during Sleep mode

My guess from past experience is your latest graphics card driver. When mine refused to wake from S0 modern standby and would BSOD (I couldn't see the BSOD as it happened cause screen was blank but the error reports after told me) I ended up reinstalling the factory intel and NVIDIA drivers which resolved the issue. Course mine was a Laptop and they tend to be finicky about using the generic site drivers so I stick with the laptop factory graphics drivers now.

I did what you suggest last summer after switching from a 12 year old Dell 16x10 monitor to a similar Samsung, but 75 Hz, and frequently getting a vertical ribbon band. It still happens very occasionally, but changing among the Display ports solves it. The power issue is very recent and so seemingly unrelated.

you have kernel power error 41
this check list may help

best of luck Steve ..

Thanks. I thought that I'd done or checked most everything on that list, and done updates as discussed above. Only the SM Bus Controller remained, and I just solved that...pending reboot.

Well, on reboot the PCI Devices keep appearing under Other devices. Under Properties > Hardware Ids, there are a list of values (I missed this before). I'll have to go through all the drivers and tools listed at the ASSUS site for my board and install them to see what happens. ROG STRIX B660-A GAMING WIFI | ROG Strix | Gaming Motherboards|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global

Follow up: Installing the applicable drivers listed on the Assus page and rebooting, had no effect on the four PCI Devices listed. Oh well. Doubt that's the problem this thread is about.
