Saw this in an article for Windows 10. Just made the same adjustment to my machine on Windows 11.

Telemetry is anything the computer (Windows) sends home... for ANY reason.
I posted this for a couple reasons.

1. It just popped up in my Firewall (Bitdefender), 2 days ago. Might have before, and I just never noticed.
2. A lot of people have been reporting excessive CPU usage, and many of the articles point to this Task as a possible cause.


The last line in the article YOU posted:
Recommendation: Disable the task or block the outbound connection of the devicecensus.exe task.


Anyway, I'm not recommending anyone disable or even take notice of this. I posted it strictly for information purposes.


Windows 10 installed May 2020. Did In-Place Upgrade July 2020.
