Hi folks ,

I installed Age Of Empires 3 and it all seems to be going well apart from when the install wizard starting up I noticed it said it was removing files/applications and went through that process before successfully ( i think ) installing the game on my laptop.

When I try to run the game I get the following error message everytime , see below:

It suggests I check the log file but Ive no idea where to find this and if I did Im pretty sure I wouldnt understand the details it includes.Ive tried uninstalling and then doing a fresh installation and I'm getting the same message.

Ive ran windows updates and my system is up to date as of right now. Ive check DirectX and its working and all the drivers are up to date. I have over 65 GB if free memory on my system and I don't think memory is an issue.

Im running windows 11, version 24h2 and it seems to be running well. See below for a screenshot of my computer details

Im not sure if this is relevant but Ive had age of mythology installed for years and it runs perfectly without any issues.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Kev ,

thanks for the super fast response.

I followed the link you provided and installed and when I tried to run the game I am still getting the same issues/error messages.

Does this laptop have just the integrated graphics or does it also have high performance GPU Nvidia or AMD available?
If it has high performance you need to switch from integrated to the high performance GPU.
