Disable Windows Hello In Chrome?

I don't have Windows Hello turned on, nor do I have any password or such in Chrome turned on, but when I do searches, it says to turn it off in Chrome, even though I can't find any setting for it in Chrome's options. When I sign in to Amazon or similar sites, it pops up asking about Windows Hello. Is there a way to disable this since I can't find it?

I’m also seeing this at sites like Amazon, Google, etc via Chrome and other browsers.

Apparently seeing prompts for Windows Hello when signing into websites like Amazon, even though you don’t use Windows Hello or have passwords saved in Chrome, this happens because Chrome now integrates with Windows Hello as part of its WebAuthn / passkey support, even if you're not actively using those features.

There are options but I haven’t had time to have a go.

Have a look in chrome://settings/passwords
Scroll to the Passkeys section.
Turn off:
"Offer to use passkeys"
"Sign in automatically using passkeys"

I haven’t had a chance to try anything because I am separated from my PC for a short while after an operation, but have been scouring the net because it’s bloody annoying. I bought a fingerprint scanner so if all else fails I’m just going to use it.

Another thing I found that may or may not work (yet to try):
Disable WebAuthn via Chrome Flags
  1. In Chrome, go to:

    Code:
    chrome://flags/#enable-web-authentication-conditional-ui

  2. Set this flag to Disabled:
    • “Enable conditional UI for Web Authentication API”
  3. Restart Chrome.
This will (allegedly) disable the UI that triggers prompts like Windows Hello on supported sites.

Your prompts are probably from C2 Password, seen at top right of your screenshot. Try the Manage button there.
I already followed up with them before starting this thread and they don't integrate with Windows Hello at all.

Exactly what? What are you even asking about. I was asking for help to why Chrome is asking for windows hello and how to disable that. It was NOT a pop up suggested I turn it off I was asking for help to turn it off.

I don't understand your purpose of asking for a screenshot. Of a window asking for using windows hello and even another user on the thread can confirm them seeing this as well.

Your first reply in this thread — “Exactly. Please provide a screenshot of the popup which suggests disabling Windows Hello.” — started things off in a way that felt more confrontational than helpful.

To be clear: at no point did I say a popup was telling me to disable Windows Hello. What I said and have repeated is that Chrome prompts me to use Windows Hello when logging into sites like Amazon, and I was asking how to disable that behavior. Several other users in this thread have confirmed they’re seeing the same thing, so it's clearly not just me. I’ve provided all the relevant context. Your continued insistence on a screenshot especially when one wouldn’t actually explain the problem any better than I already have hasn’t contributed to a solution. At this point, your replies come across as combative rather than constructive. I’ve provided all the context I can. Your repeated demands for a screenshot that wouldn’t add anything useful along with the dismissive tone haven’t helped resolve the issue. I won’t be replying to your posts going forward. I’m here to look for actual answers, not to get pulled into unproductive back-and-forths.

Be Well Sir.
