I think for competition and ads. Epic has several offers for the new year and want people to use their launcher to buy games. I am using their launcher already for Unreal hoping to find Unreal job one day.

I can understand them wanting people to sign up for an account. What I don't understand is why they give people an option to use an existing account they have. Such as Google, Facebook or Steam. I chose to use my Steam account and they still wanted me to sign up. I still might download it while being offered for free.

I use my google account to sign in to epic, I think the important thing to use their app or I dont understand you correctly ?
