Does Windows 11 have these taskbar features back, yet?

  • Use small buttons
  • Never combine buttons
  • Add toolbars
I use all three in Windows 10 and have since Windows 7 (and earlier, in the case of toolbars).

Afraid not, unknown as to if they ever will or why the task bar can't be unlocked although I suspect it's not the same program / code or whatever.

Apparently the modern taskbar doesn't have these options, at least right now. However, it's possible to restore "classic" taskbar a la Windows 10 using some Registry tweaks. I have done it before installation the Open Shell start menu, because the modern taskbar will stop working after these modifications. Some details are in my post Classic look in my Windows 11 in the tutorial Restore Classic Start Menu in Windows 11. All the features you mentioned become available after this modification, but for a price.
