Hello all,

a few days ago I bought a Kingstone SSD drive for my DELL G15 laptop and ever since the laptop randomly freezes and requires a hard reboot and sometimes it gives me DPC_Watchdog_Violation BSOD.

I tried sfc /scannow, CHKDSK, check for FW updates, check for drivers and windows updates, nothing worked.
The issue happens faster if I accessed the hard disk and right-clicked on a folder.
Running games like Gears 5 from it also triggers the freezing issue.

I'm thinking of reinstalling Windows but I want to make sure first the issue is from the OS and not the new SSD.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Is the new drive used as a secondary drive for storage or did you clone your old OS drive to the new ssd? If it is being used as a secondary drive, remove it. If the problem goes away, the issue would not appear to be a windows issue but a hardware issue. I am tagging @zbook on this thread.

Secondary SSD to put games on it.
I removed the SSD and used it on a desktop PC but it had no Issues though
