[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx & Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx)

Hi, does any of these driver packs work with Asus' laptops? If yes, which one should be downloaded for the laptop ASUS Zephyrus G15 GA503QM-HQ058T (2021 model)?

Thankfully I have a backup copy of a driver pack MoKiChU uploaded to rog.asus.com/forum a while back, but it looks like MoKiChU had to stop doing this as he wanted to use his time for more important things in his life (which I fully support). Whenever I try to upgrade the drivers with newer ones, the sound becomes broken (popping, hissing, crackling etc), even when using the ones from Asus' own support site. If I let Windows Update do the job, same result. So I have had to disable windows updating drivers for several hardware instances.

Are there any place where one can download updated driver packs for the laptops anymore like before, or is this not available any longer anywhere?

Thanks
Eirik

Hi,

I don't offer audio drivers packages for notebooks/laptops in order to focus on my field : DIY PC/Motherboards (hence the fact that my threads are in DIY Builds and Motherboards category).

Please refer to your product support page to download the appropriate drivers for your product (if you have any issue with them, please contact ASUS Support).

Hi,

You have an ASUS TUF DTS Audio Processing motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS AP) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

hi @MoKiChU ,
i recently bought a Z790-A PRIME and have an issue with my Realtek Audio Driver. I tried downloading the Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTSX Ultra) and followed the installation and update yet still doesn't work. my audio when at high volumes is fine but at any volume below 65ish i have an issue where every volume spike in audio i listen to causes popping as well as the volume being inconsistent - fine for like half a second, then suddenly goes down and sounds muffled almost like theres a post processing on the audio going on that is activating after a huge delay. this happens to me only with realtek (with the windows driver it doesnt happen) and only in front jack when using the "make front and rear output devices playback the same audio stream" option (as in the picture linked). when changing to "make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously" it works fine.
my issue is i want both front and back jacks to playback the same audio

Hey there, for the Asus ROG users.. I've been having a hell of a time (two years and counting) with Realtek always setting random amplifications (performance, powerful, extreme) all throughout the day, especially when unplugging/replugging headphones. Very dangerous for the ears.

Originally, I was aggressively running a Powershell script that was overwriting AsusAmplifyLevel inside the driver's CurrentControlSet registry key and rebooting the driver whenever it detected the change, however lately Realtek changed something and now it reverts back to a random value immediately upon restarting the audio driver.

I have discovered that deleting the auto start RtkAudUService64.exe via Autoruns, then disabling and stopping the accompanying service (also called RtkAudUService64.exe - which only serves to restore the auto start task) disables this obnoxious random amplification behavior.

It also breaks Realtek Audio Console, however you can simply make a shortcut that manually starts "RtkAudUService64.exe -background", make your changes inside Realtek Audio Console, then kill it again.

Works for me. Hopefully someone else finds it useful. One day I hope Realtek fixes this automatic impedance amplification nonsense and allows users to manually define it. Until then, it has to be done this way. :/

I noticed this as well...
I though it was only at driver update and reboot that it occurred...
if it happens every reboot..
then yeah its become a pain in the A**

Realtek needs to fix this issue..
feel free to bug report it too them if you can find a way.

Hi,

From your description, it appears to be a conflict of front output impedance sensing & rear output impedance sensing (and consequent amplify level setting) when devices playback the same audio stream (which is by default). As workaround, please check your amplify level and set it to lower level.

Also in order to avoid such impedance conflict, if 2 audio devices are connected at the same time at the front output and the rear output, if you do not unplug/replug your headphones depending on whether you are using it or not (impedance detection is done when connecting your audio device), and that your headphones are constantly plugged in (and therefore the impedance detection is not done) be sure to switch to "Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously." mode.

Note : If you do not want (for one reason or another) manually lowering your amplify level when devices playback the same audio stream or switching to devices playback two different audio streams, follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then install the last audio drivers package from your motherboard support page, if this phenomenon still persists (and so that is not specific to the drivers package that I offer), contact ASUS Support.

Hi,

As I explained earlier, impedance detection (and consequent amplify level autosetting) is only done when connecting your audio device (impedance detection can also be done automatically during an update of the APO SWC drivers or related drivers).

@Melchior : You misunderstood him, it's only GeneralPlatypus's tweaking attempts that reset, not the amplify level.

@GeneralPlatypus : If you absolutely need to unplug and replug your headphones while keeping the amplify level unchanged, and in order to avoid all those registry tweaks and such that you do, since the impedance detection is done at the physical connection, simply plug in a short 3.5mm jack extension cord that is constantly plugged in and plug in your headphones when you want to use it.

what do you mean by this (like what's that supposed to mean)? this inquiry seems either vague or unclear and needs to be more specific

if you mean the realtek web site, don't even think of looking there on their site for any win11 based audio drivers because they will never release any - such new w11 drivers are released to OEMs & thru WU & ms catalog

Hello, I updated to the new driver version with Z370+Windows 11 and I have a problem with DTS Headphone.X v1. It does not correctly detect normal headphones, and detects the "in-ear headphones version" and the sound is bad.
Is it possible to get the previous version of controllers? That controller did work fine for me.
I uninstalled and installed the driver according to the instructions.
I'm sorry for my English.

My version is: [DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx)
Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS HPXv1)
