[DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40 & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx)

@MoKiChU thanks for these audio drivers for selected Asus motherboards these will certainly are very useful.

I have a question which I hope you can advice upon. I install Windows on different spec systems daily. Usally I use inject drivers by inf files. Would these drivers you provide be suitable for inf injection and due to so many varies of asus motherboards would you trust it would select the correct inf files required for that selected motherboard if I didn't manually point it to the correct driver folder. Hope that makes sence. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Since I only offer OEM original drivers, WHQL signed by Microsoft, all the drivers that I offer (audio or not) are suitable for inf injection.

Windows PnP will automatically recognize the hardware installed and will load the appropriate drivers from the DriverStore system folder.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not needing to install any audio software related programs. I just need the drivers. However I've noticed you have a third party folder. Will this still be required or is it for extras. Thanks.

The audio drivers in ThirdParty folder are required to take advantage of all your audio features.

If you avoid install of the audio drivers from ThirdParty folder, you will lose the hardware audio processing performed by the third party APO (which avoids CPU resource hogging for audio processing) and you will lose the equalizer (it is by design, it's intended to work like this at least for ASUS products : If third party drivers are built-in, the equalization is done by the third party APO even if the third party app is not installed). That is why I don't recommend avoid install of the audio drivers in ThirdParty folder, if you don't want the third party app/features/effects, just disable the third party features/effects or don't install/uninstall the third party app.

Hello Moc. I was wondering what the difference is between the Realtek Audio and the Realtek USB Audio threads is since they both cover Intel 7xx chipsets. I have an Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero and I want to know what the correct audio drivers are to install. Also, are any of the bloatware apps neccesary and any of them help in any way? Or can I just install the driver and the small realtek app and be done with it?

Hello Moc. I was wondering what the difference is between the Realtek Audio and the Realtek USB Audio threads is since they both cover Intel 7xx chipsets.

Hi,

The difference is the internal audio interface used. ASUS motherboards will use the USB internal audio interface for mainly 2 scenarios :

- Go beyond the limitations of the traditional audio interface (which supports up to 32-Bit/192kHz) and in order to be able to use ALC408x codec to supports up to 32-Bit/384 kHz.
- By motherboard chipset limitation in the case of AMD TRX40-based motherboards which does not allow the use of the traditional audio interface.

Also, if you wonder how to determine which audio drivers does a motherboard need, please refer to this post : [DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx & Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx).

I have an Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero and I want to know what the correct audio drivers are to install.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Also, are any of the bloatware apps neccesary and any of them help in any way? Or can I just install the driver and the small realtek app and be done with it?

You can just install the Realtek Audio Control app, but know that you will not have any EQ in it, the EQ is in Sonic Studio III app (by design).

Hi everyone,

For information, since this latest release Realtek has split the Realtek USB APO Driver into 2 versions depending on your operating system :

Hi,

Thanks for the great work with the drivers! If for some reason you stop updating, can we just use the drivers from Asus site directly or do we have to uninstall these drivers first?

Hi,

I only offer OEM original drivers, WHQL signed by Microsoft, so my audio drivers packages can update or be updated by the audio drivers packages from your motherboard support page.

If I told to new people on my audio drivers threads to follow their CLEANUP process then their INSTALL process, it is in order to start from a clean base (I don't know what kind of audio drivers they tried previously, WHQL or not, before coming to my audio drivers threads).

Hello MoKiChU,

After reading this thread I am uncertain what to do, which way to follow.
I have a ASUS Z790-A WIFI motherboard.
The "only" issue I really have problems with, is the low microphone volume.

What strategy should I follow?

Thank for your work in this jungle of drivers :-)

Recently I had the similar issue after connecting MS USB HD camera with mic, had to disable all other micks in hardware and reinstall properly drivers.

Hi,

You are in the wrong thread.

You have an ASUS PRIME DTS:X Ultra motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTSX Ultra) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx & Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx).
