Long story shorter, I used to use Chrome and firefox, went to Edge about a year ago. I was honestly liking Edge better for many reasons. However, about a week ago I didnt know if it was an Edge update or a Windows 11 update or or an AMD Radeon Software Update that did it But I narrowed it down to simply an Edge issue and not anything else. It is also NOT any of my extensions i am using because I disabled them and restarted Edge and tried and booted into safe mode and still, same thing, when I open Edge it takes literally 7 to 10 seconds to load GOOGLE for jeeps sakes..lol. So. I dont know if anyone else is having this issue but I now went back to Chrome and tweaked it to my loving and Boom now im happy. Funny when I open Chrome Google loads almost instantly. And yes I even turned off my Avast security and disable my VPN still no luck with Edge.

I had a recent similar problem with Firefox on one of my machines after either a Windows or Firefox update. Pages started taking forever to load. I disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox on that machine and it solved the problem. Went back to speedy page loads. Might want to try that in Edge.

New update 3/24 Latest Microsoft Edge released for Windows
Compare your version against what is noted in tutorial. In Edge>settings>about Edge

I run the Canary version and am having no problem with this build. If you want to try Canary, you can install it alongside the stable version. It will be listed separately in all apps.

I've had a problem with slow browser loading in a range of browsers Edge, Brave, Chrome and tried turning off automatically detect settings in Proxy settings, it solved this. I wasn't running a proxy anyway so it seemed like one to try.

Edge isn't running right for me either. I'm trying to watch NCAA March Madness and the video will freeze, and then won't catch up or anything like that. I can hear the audio, but the latest Edge update screwed it up.

From my experience, FF has become overall slower than Chrome (now).

Whether you're using Chrome(ium) based browser or Firefox, the more add-ons (extensions) you have installed especially Ublock or Adguard types, the slower your browsing experience will be.
