I supposedly uninstalled Edge. How do I make it completely go away?

You've probably uninstalled the client portion of the browser..., what's left are multi facets of the Edge App Package.
There are uninstallers for that but, it breaks other areas of Windows.

I've tried without success!

I just change the name and icon of the real shortcut and pretend Edge doesn't exist!!! :cool:

Not that one, no..., but the one you uninstalled, yes..., which would make the one with no icon disappear.

Double check to see if you may still have a Microsoft Edge shortcut in the locations of option 1 and 2 in the tutorial below. If you do, deleting it should remove it.

This is my apps list, I have Edge fully installed but the E icon went and was replaced with the blank page icon, it still works fine and opens the program

In the start menu mine is missing the icon as well but works fine, it has never been uninstalled

To top it all off each Version Upgrade and maybe a Build update to those Versions will most likely put it all back to default. Now with the demise of Internet Explorer things have been taken over by Edge, put iexplore.exe in the Run box and it brings up Edge. Fortunately for most users those now-twice yearly Upgrades will change to the announced yearly Upgrade going forward.
