Hello

did successful System image restore with Macrium Reflect x, Went to boot back into Windows, then had secure boot violation error

((I did do the revocations, i guess i shouldn't done the Image Restore in the first place))

Now how do i fix this? do i need to disable Secure boot, and then Re Enable it?

Or am i screwed and will be forced into doing a clean install once again, and reinstalling everything

((This was my first ever restore operation, i should've just ignored the store updating same 3 apps daily doh))

Motherboard is MSI Pro B650 VC WIfi Rev 1.0
Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (Image version was on 4484, updating to latest Patch Tuesday update asap here from July 8th)

I trust you people hopefully to get me back to proper working stable order

Hope this solves the store app issue after all this trouble i went thru, if not, then just gonna leave alone if i get it running properly again

Ok Gets this done asap here, and hopefully all will be totally back to normal in a bit here

This was my first ever attempt at Image restore ever.

So hope solved the Windows store 3 apps always showing update available when opened it sometimes or sometimes if i did a manual check for updates.

**Should I Re Update to July 8th Patch Tuesday prior to re enabling Secure boot, or afterwards after doing the Repeat of Step 2 and re enabling Secure Boot**

These sorts of issues with the boot revocations has made me avoid this until MS comes up with a really simple way to do this for the numpties of the computer world.

After you revoked the CA 2011 cert, any Windows image that boots off the old CA 2011 boot files won't work (with Secure Boot enabled).

Depending on how old your backup is, it might be from before the transition. So now you need to force Windows to use the CA 2023 boot file (which the steps will make sure the new boot files are available for you to copy).

Assuming it's all good again, you do a new backup which captures Windows with the CA 2023 boot files.

Yes, Macrium should put in extra logic to figure out if you're trying to restore from a backup pre-dating the cutover. You won't be the only person who encounters this issue.

Now my ethernet adapter completely dead for some unknown reason. Built in WiFi is working though. Slowly getting things back in order.

Oh well my own fault for attempting that image restore

Don't think ever trying an image restore again

No idea what happened to my Ethernet adapter, Windows doesn't see at all now, at least Wifi works for now, til i can get an 2.5gig usb ethernet adapter ordered and then i'll use that, guess my only other option in this matter

Honestly i never should've started the Image restore in first place

**I'll still do my backups, but will be a long long time before i try another Restore**

I also asked on Macrium Reflect Forum on how to properly create the Rescue media compatible with the CA 2023 boot file

doing my new backup later tonight if doesn't storm, found my hidden in drawer usb 2.5 gig ethernet adapter that sorta works so using that now, did order a newer one that will hopefully work even better, this Sabrent one keeps wanting to come apart for some reason lol

The Restored backup was only from July 7th, so really wasn't too old, but guess old enough to cause me problems

At least now the emergency is over and i can work on cleaning up temp files and such, then do the new image asap here
