This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off if Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) will block installation of apps identified as a threat by your antivirus software for your account in Windows 11.

Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) enables your Windows 11 device to run Android apps available from the Amazon Appstore.

Starting with Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) version 2304.40000.5.0, Microsoft added Package verification for apps on WSA. Android apps are scanned using antivirus software installed on Windows prior to app installation.

You can turn on (default) or off Block installation of malicious apps in WSA settings if wanted.

Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is being deprecated beginning March 5, 2025

Here's How:

1 Open the Windows Subsystem for Android™️ Settings app from Start > All apps.

2 Click/tap on System on the left side of Windows Subsystem for Android™️ Settings. (see screenshot below)

3 Turn On (default) or Off Block installation of malicious apps for what you want.

4 You can now close Windows Subsystem for Android™️ Settings if you like.

That's it,
